How to develop suitably in the many contradictions becomes the major difficulty which the renewal of traditional residence space is faced with, so the research of the renewal development of traditional residence space which aimed at the continuation of the historical and cultural value need to enrich. Under this background, to study the renewal of Huizhou traditional residence spatial form, from which to inheritance technology essence reasonably and remove the construction trash, have important guiding significance upon the improvement of the renewal methods of Huizhou traditional residence space and defining the direction of the traditional residence renewal.Firstly, taking the Huizhou traditional residence as the research object, through proceeding field investigation and field test, analyzing the current characteristics of Huizhou traditional residence space from the view of architecture and summarizing the existing problems and insufficiencies in the residence renewal development, it can be seen that the building function cannot meet the demand, interior living environment is poor and building structure damage seriously.Secondly, from different angles, such as history, society and culture of analysis of the influence factors of the Huizhou tradition common people residence space form of the prototype, development process and update, inductive effect of the renewal and development of the crux of the problem and points out that the renewal design strategy direction: special environment gave birth to the Huizhou tradition common people residence unique spatial form, building function, indoor environment, building components and demand status and urgent to promote residential renewal, and in protection policy under the influence of "spatial form update" is limited.
