Effect Of Small Streets In The City Public Space System

At present, the city of China is in the tide of urbanization, rapid economic development speeds up the speed of urban construction. The rapid development of the urban residents living standards while increasing the phenomenon of more constructive destruction. The public space system of Chinese cities is becoming more complicated and confused. The chaos of the urban public space system affects the effective operation and the harmonious development of the city.Under such background, the hope can through the function of small and medium sized city street space in the urban public space system, to find a through the activation of small and medium-sized street space and improve the way of urban public space.The main research scope of this paper is located in the city of Xi’an(the inner zone in the wall of Xi’an city). Xi’an as the representative of a Chinese city which have gone through since the Western Zhou Dynasty since 3000 years of history, in the inner zone of the wall of Xi’an city is inherited the rich historical and cultural heritage, under the background of the rapid development of construction, in the inner zone of the wall of Xi’an city,the public space system should not only satisfy the requirements of the city residents of the modern way of life but also to protect the original historical pattern, ancient and modern conflict greatly increased the difficulty of Xi’an urban planning and construction. At the same time, the rapid economic construction has destroyed the city’s public space system integrity. Local observation, the small and medium street space as the city public space elements also due to the occupation of motor vehicles, lost the original exchange activity and other functions.The article studied for present situation of the inner zone of the Xi’an city and the function of small and medium streets in urban public space system.Paper put forward to improve the public space system of urban public space by activating small and medium street space.And through the streets of practical design describes the specific reform proposals, assume "urban garden" in the small street space, and improve the system of urban public space, increase the vitality of the city.
