Viaduct as the main transportation way of Chinese big cities, is the important place of people to activity. With the increased residents demand of urban public space, many cities pay more and more attention in the development of spaces under the viaduct, the utilization modes form from idle, parking, green to the municipal housing and so on.Because the structure of the viaduct and the environmental characteristics of the viaduct,so the spaces under viaduct is fragmentary, using functional mixed and disorderly, and the use of this space is not effectively improve the depressed, cold and cut off city texture image for people.how to define and optimize the function of spaces under the viaduct, make the space under the viaduct was forced to use the embarrassment, gray space trying to converted to residents and pedestrians happy, meet the use requirements of public activities,is the main content of this article.Taking Zhengzhou city as the object, and hopes to learn from foreign experience and actual case, the combination of general adjust measures to local conditions to fill empty to Zhengzhou city viaduct bridge, integrated into the recycling method,construction methods such as landscape characteristics mitigate the contradiction between space and urban landscape under the bridge, meet the demand of the diversity of residents. The main research content is as follows: first of all, this paper will illustrate the concept and related theory of study object; Second, I will explicit the basic theory of viaduct bottom space: properties of the elements, space form and places; Third, I will take within the third ring road viaduct of Zhengzhou city as the research object, on the basis of field survey, questionnaire interviews, analyzing viaduct bottom spatial accessibility, space form, landscape environmental quality, public facilities and public activities, so as to form a system about the present situation of Zhengzhou city viaductbottom space environment, the comprehensive understanding. Fourth, in view of the improper use of space, combined with the status quot and reform the guiding principles to produce recycles concrete method.In this article, through analysis on the investigation of the current situation of Zhengzhou city’s environmental space under the viaduct, the bottom space use of tenses and the existing problems will be concluded. I will choose the other three typical case to analysis, in order to point out that personality problems in the use of space under the bridge, and relating to the unreasonable bridge space, landscape to reuse the design countermeasures will be presented, in order to provide some practical experiences of other urban viaduct bottom space problems on a similar development.
