With the wide application of computer technology and the acceleration in the strategy of ship manufacturing, electrification, informatization and automation of ship demand is higher and higher, and Marine generator set in the heart of ship, its stability and reliability is very important. Therefore, before the ship, sailing, repairing, leaving the factory, rigorous testing of the ship generator is of great significance.In this paper, both theoretical research and program design and realization are used. We analyzed the marine generator set of two kinds of load test in deep from a theoretical point of view, summed up the advantages and disadvantages of dry resistance load test and water resistance load test, combined the development trend of the ship’s generator and technical requirements, and choosed the dry resistance load test method. The electrical control technology, touch screen technology, SCADA technology, database technology and industrial control network technology were used to realize the test automation, intelligence and informatization of marine generator set. According to the technical index provided by the dockyard, we put forward marine generator test system of three load device using a combination of design, with separate mode and the combination mode, to adapt to different test demand, the power of large span, good flexibility, high equipment utilization.For dry resistance differs from the characteristics of water resistance adjusting method, we draw lessons from the rignts resistence network decoding circuit principle in digital circuit, analyzed the dry resistance’s control characteristic as a generator test load, adopted piecewise control method, combined the bisecation method control and fuzzy control, and proposed a new idea to solve the dry resisteance continuous adjustable resistor load test. In the design of control network, used industrial Ethernet bus and Modbus/TCP protocol, adopted integral segmentand separated collision domains, combined with the operation mode of the single-client/multi-server, analyzed the load characteristics and delay characteristics in control network, and meet the requirements of network in real-time and certainty. In addition, the introducing of the heartbeat packets mechanism, to diagnose the occasional interruption and congestion in the network diagnosis, in order to make a response measures.Monitoring system has realized the load of marine generating set automatic control and regulation, recorded the generating set various parameters automatically according to test requirements, processed the data, automatically generated of generator performance analysis report, supported to print and storage, realized the automatic management.New generator dry load apparatus intelligent test and control system has improved the degree of generator test automation, intellectualization and informatization.It can accurately get generating set various performance parameters, at the same time, greatly reduce the labor intensity of workers, had the advantages of energy saving and efficiency increasing, and was advantageous to the shipyard to achieve industrial upgrading.
