The Architecture Types And Construction Feature Study Of Canton Gardens

The research of architecture type and construction feature about traditional architecture is a very important work in architecture history subject. This article is wished to continue the research on Lingnan Garden written by Pro. Xia Changshi and Pro. Mo Bozhi, complementing the Chapters 5 to 7 about Garden Architecture Characteristics, Architecture Type Discuss and Architecture Decoration. In history, there were many different gardens on Guangfu area, especially during the Ming and Qing Dynasties. We should pay attention to Guangfu Garden as it is an important part in the Guangfu Architecture system, thought there are few of them left now. The writer collected lots of Guangfu Garden cases and information by Literature Review and Field Research, and make them on the label. This article discusses five basic Architecture types of Guangfu Garden——hall building, stories building, boat hall, pavilion and gallery, and focuses on their style, construction, scale, framework and modality. In order to deeping realization, we will compare Guangfu Garden Architecture with other Guangfu tradition Architecture and Jiangnna Garden Architecture. Detailed research content will spread out by chapter discussion: Chapter Ⅰ:defining the object and range of study, expounding the meaning and methods of study, describing the situation of Guangfu Garden architecture study.Chapter Ⅱ:collecting lots of Guangfu Garden cases by Literature Review and Field Research, adding a few cases for further analysis.Chapter Ⅲ:describing the halls of Guangfu Garden from several aspects, such as two fundamental forms, indoor space, roof and construction etc. As above, Chapter Ⅳ and Ⅴ introduces stories building, boat hall, pavilion and gallery. Chapter Ⅵ:discussing the specific application of Guangfu Garden architectures, putting the architecture back on the gardens and analyzing the image of Guangfu Garden architecture in Export Painting.
