Comprehensive Evaluation On Resident Satisfaction Of Shantytown Reconstruction

The shantytown, which is known as the typical Chinese slum, is a legacy of social and economic development. In 2008, with the progress of the urban renewal, reconstruction of shantytowns was included into the plan of ‘Affordable Housing Construction’.In the process of reconstruction, the problems existing in each stage are gradually highlighted, which reduces the residents’ satisfaction, limits the further development of the project, and also aroused the government and scholar’s attention. Shantytown dwellers, as the direct participants, whose satisfaction to some extent affect the effect of the reconstruction project. Therefore, from the perspective of dwellers’ subjective feelings, this paper captures their true feelings and actual requirements, in order to promote the sustainable development of the shantytown reconstruction project.Through plenty researches and practices, foreign researchers built several representative customer satisfaction indices models. Based on them, Chinese investigators designed localized household satisfaction model.On the native household satisfaction model basis, this paper combines theoretical knowledge and practical situation, discusses the applicability of household satisfaction model in shantytown reconstruction field, and utilizes Analytic Hierarchy Process to build shantytown household satisfaction comprehensive evaluation system. In this paper, two new shantytown reconstruction areas in Chongqing are selected as the samples. By means of Fuzzy Comprehensive Evaluation method, the data indicates that the satisfaction levels of the two areas are ‘very satisfied’ and ‘satisfied’, respectively, and also notes the principle influence factor. The conclusion helps provide suggestions from the perspective of hardware construction, humanistic concern, and government management, and promotes the healthy and sustained development of the shantytown reconstruction project.
