In this background, studying the local architectural culture and the form of a specific historical period and abstracting the characteristics of the spirit of art and making them show in front of people, providing inspiration for contemporary designing Everfount to the architects, which it become a liability in this era.Based on the above viewpoint, This paper begins the research with the timber-framed of the traditional building. In the regional category, select the Bashu area as the spatial scope of the study. In the time category, select the Ming and Qing Dynasties as the research range of time. On this basis, 14 national and provincial historical and cultural town, and dozens of national key cultural relics protection units conducted field research and data collection. Hope to be able to extract timber frame that has the characteristics of typical Sichuan Traditional Architecture, and we can conduct the contrast research.The traditional building regional characteristics of Bashu act as the main thread of the research. Contrasting with the practice of timber frame of north official buildings as the article implied Extension.Through the research of background and carding the origin and development, and research and analysis of wood frame that is typical in Bashu region. From the four aspects of characteristics, functional characteristics, regional characteristics and geographical characteristics of building decoration, describes the geographical characteristics of timber frame,that act as the main research content of this paper.Through the above research, we draw a conclusion that the common characteristics of Bashu traditional regional architecture. In the types of characteristics, chuandou structure as the main structure of timber frame, and the lifting beam structure in the region of space has become the main structure. In the functional characteristics, through the flexibility of the chuandou structure.to adapt to the changing needs of the function. In the characteristics of the regional decoration, Confucianism, Buddhism and Taoism, the three traditional religious culture and folk culture deeply influences the formation of Bashu decorative features. I hope to make up for the lack of the research of Ba Shu traditional wooden architecture system.and hoping to be able to have the basic research for Bashu traditional architecture research. To provide some theoretical basis for the research and protection of traditional wooden architecture. And provide inheritance context inspiration for contemporary architecture creation.
