Undoubtedly, the development of information technology has brought about new evolution opportunity for military reformation. As a consequence, weapons and armaments tend to be closely interacted to each other, the confrontations showing the characteristics of Systems-of-Systems more and more obviously. Whether the Armaments System-of-Systems Architecture is logical and how to efficaciously evaluate its operation capability come to be among the most important issues. In this dissertation, the Armaments System-of-Systems operation networks modeling and capability evaluation methods are studied here. Under the requirements of specific operational missions, Armaments System-of-Systems are analyzed particularly, based on which the corresponding operation networks are constructed. On the basis of the operation network models, the concepts of Information Entropy are referred to here to measure the degree of information uncertainty contained in operational activities and operational tasks. In this way, the measurement index for assessing the Armament System-of-Systems Operation Capability is presented accordingly. The substantial work and the innovations are listed as follows:(1) The operation network modeling of our Armaments System-of-Systems are founded for the specific stratagem missions. In the modeling process, the research of the interactions between the armaments entities in the operation network and the analysis of the network hierarchy structure manifest the rationality of operation network model. In the modeling process of describing the interactions in the operation network, the improved concept of Information Entropy-Information Quantity is used to quantify the operation capability of each edge in the network. In this way, the important functions of information flow, substance flow or energy flow to the overall System-of-Systems capability of completing its missions are specified here.(2) Armament System-of-Systems operation capability is assessed efficiently by the thought of operation loops. By quantifying how each edge abstracting from every operation action affects the degree of information uncertainty of the operation process based on the concept of Information Entropy, a polymerized outcome can be achieved successfully. In this process, the operation capability of single operation loop is calculated by using the calculation thought of Information Quantity, and they are polymerized obtain the integrated operation capability of all the operation loops aiming at the same enemy target. Next, the enemy targets are weighted according to their different importance, and the final integrated index for evaluating the Armament System-of-Systems operation capability can be attained by the weighted average of the operation capability of our System-of-Systems of confronting every single target.(3) Under the background of anti-missile Armament System-of-Systems, our researches on operation network modeling and capability assessment methods are practiced. By studying the component elements of the Armament System-of-Systems and the interactions between them, the indices of each armament entity are evaluated which led to the accurate values for Information Entity and operation capability of the edges between the weapons nodes. After the polymerization specialized in the last chapter, anti-missile Armament System-of-Systems operation capability evaluation index can be obtained under the specified operation mission in this example.
