Low-voltage switchgear is a control equipment which is important to the power system. With the development of smart grid, the acquisition of temperature parameters is more and more important, but the general low voltage switchgear do not have this function. The development status of intelligent switchgear is analysised, and this paper put forward a new idea about the design of low-voltage intelligent switchgear.The temperature acquisition module and low-voltage intelligent comprehensive monitoring unit based on the Zig Bee wireless communication technology were designed to complete the acquisitionof the temperature and the electrical parameter. It has the capability to connect the low-switchgear and the PC. The PC processes the data after it receive them. The processed data is displayed by the on-line real-time monitoring system on the PC. This allows the low-switchgear decentralized installation, centralized control, and it has high security and stability.In this paper, the following works were completed: firstly, the bus is the carrier of voltage and current in the low voltage switchgear. This paper analysis of the dynamic stability and the thermal stability, and then simulated them.Secondly, the hardware and the software of the the communication interface module, the power supply module, relay output module and the temperature monitoring module were designed at the core of CC2530 MCU and the Zig Bee wireless communication and test it. The result is very accurate. Thirdly, the hardware and the software of low-voltage intelligent comprehensive monitoring unit were designed. The current is measured by current shunt to eliminate the influence of magnetic saturation. And the monitor interface was also designed with the Lab VIEW software on PC, and on which the operating status of all electrical components can be displayed. Fourthly, the Zig Bee wireless communication of the low-voltage switchgear was networked and tested. The results show that this design of wireless intelligent monitoring system has good accuracy and stability.In this paper, the intelligent switchgear has great realistic meaning and use value. It improves the reliability of the power distribution control, can realize the unattended and save labor costs.
