The Application Of Bamboo Resource In Landscape Space Design

Bamboo resource is widely used in environmental art design. As an important design object, it is an important element of the Chinese modern landscape design. With its special aesthetic value and profound traditional cultural heritage, bamboo has become an important component of China’s environmental art design. Bamboo is the Chinese nation’s favorite traditional materials and contains a profound essence of Chinese history and culture. Bamboo, as design material, can bring about natural harmony and enjoyment, and is in line with the aesthetic requirements of modern world and the social development of today’s low-carbon life. Bamboo’s unique structure contributes to the unique beauty of structure. It has a green color, upright posture and fresh taste. All these unique features are unmatched by other design objects. The configuration of bamboo with other building elements in the landscape space will give full play to the advantages of bamboo, which can not only reflect the designer’s awareness of environmental protection, but also enhance special artistic effect of bamboo landscape.According to bamboo’s cultural characteristics and its design value, this paper attempts to take the design case study of Cihu Teahouse along "Lovers’ Lane" on Cihu Lake in Huangshi, Hubei as an example to explore the design method of bamboo space landscaping and the artistic effect and to manifest bamboo’s natural beauty and artistic beauty as well as the artistic value and practical value of bamboo landscape. The research aims at the combination of traditional culture and modern aesthetics principle, forming design ideas with Chinese characteristics so that bamboo materials are sufficiently and reasonably applied in landscape design, and bamboo culture better developed, bamboo spirit fully carried on, so that bamboo materials are properly used to better serve today’s rapid development of society and to meet the demand of people’s material and spiritual pursuit.
