Bamboo is one of the commonest materials in traditional architecture and indoors.Author takes civilian house of typical Chinese traditional building representatives as aexample, Analyses bamboo ecological application in Chinese traditional civilian housewith re-understanding bamboo on the basis of ecology, author studies both ecologicalappliance values and culture values. Aims at the several problems about using of bambooat present, and some thinking as reference have been point out.
