New pavement materials and structure are emerging in recent years, including color asphalt, rubber asphalt, heat-reflection coating, big particle size permeable structure, etc, which closely connect with human se nse perception. Colored pavement landscape effect is remarkable, affecting person’s impressions. Rubber asphalt pavements, which can decrease traffic noise, affect person’s auditory sense. Heat-reflection coating, particle size of permeable structure can relieve urban heat island effect to adjust person’s body temperature. Compared with conventional pavement, the new pavement, which not only meets the requirements of road performance, but also has good ecological function, is more widely applied.Plenty of studies had been carried out in the past regarding the road performance of new materials pavement. Based on the lever involved in sensory awareness, this paper mainly explores the ecological function design and application of several new pavements mentioned above, and then analyzes the sensory evaluation research.According to the principle of color psychology and color collocation theory, combined with the function of colored pavement, color design and application of pavement based on the impressions will be carried out firstly. Here applies CAD floor plan tracing, then imports 3D MAX model and uses Photoshop later image processing to fulfill the road simulation and pavement’s color design, through the laboratory experiment research the effect on cooling and reflection of different color, studies the shading performa nce and low temperature performance of light color binders. Based on these processes, evaluates the quality of impressions and evaluation indexes and quantitative evaluation method can be put forward.Based on the auditory sense, pavement design and application of noise reduction is involved in the analysis of the advantages of rubber pavement had low noise and effect on noise reduction of rubber specification and content, according to different types of noise reduction mechanism of pavement and the results of investigation. The results of laboratory experiment are applied to test pavement, and test the effect on noise reduction. Furthermore, evaluates the quality of auditory sense, and grading standard of low noise pavement is put forward.Then focus on the heat-reflection of pavement design and application based on somatosensory. The cooling effect of heat-reflection coating would be carried out through the field test according to the application of heat-reflection pavement and construction technology. Meanwhile, quantitative description of effect on cooling of heat-reflection coating, and analysis on its social, economic benefits would be done.Finally, focus on the permeable pavement design and application based on the somatosensory. According to the principle of adjusting the air temperature and humidity, seepage test for large gap materials and permeability test will be performed. Meanwhile, carries on a correlation analysis connected with porosity, respectively. Furthermore, recommends a proper target porosity and thickness of the structure for some region of large void permeable structure based on the derived formula, which is associated with road runoff and permeability properties.Ecological function of new pavement is closely combined wit h human sensory. In order to provide a better living environment, maximum to improve the comfort of human life, the research of sensory evaluation based on the design and application of new pavements is significant.
