Research On The Protection Of Architectural Culture Of Xijiang Miao Villages

With the area of 17.65 square kilometers, Guizhou province is located in the large and step-like slope zone that is transition between Yunnan plateau and low mountains and hills in the southwest area of China. It’s also the raiser Karst landform between Sichuan Basin and Guangxi Karst hill and its topographic variation is more complicated, its transportation infrastructure has relatively been backward, it has been called wasteland that concentrates lots of minorities. However that is why its village buildings are well reserved and inherit their cultural and ethnical tradition. Only the villages of southeastern area of Guizhou province have accounted for 35% of the total number in the first three announced Chinese traditional village rosters. Nowadays, with the rapid disappearance of Chinese traditional village, the reserved traditional villages have become an important part of Chinese culture and attracted increasing attention and investment of relative government. The Xijiang Miao Village that located in Southeast region is one of the villages which get more attention in the context of large-scale development of Guizhou tourism.Xijiang culture comes from the heritage and creation of Xijiang local people in daily life, the blend of nation economy, the change of traditional industry, the transformation of lifestyle conception and the transition of dominant position have undoubtedly become a great strike to Xijiang traditional culture. The article analyses the protection of Xijiang culture on the aspect of architecture.The main task of this article is involved in:(1) By the method of literature review and field research, summarizes the main cultural characteristics of Xijiang Miao Village on the base of Xijiang Miao Village history (2) By the method of field research, analyzes the factors effecting traditional Xijiang Miao Village culture, summary of the factors that impact the traditional characteristics of Xijiang. (3) By the method of questionnaire, investigated specific measures to promote the architectural heritage and cultural development of Xijiang Miao Village. By combining the discussion of this article with the practical situation of Xijiang Miao village, specific advices on the respect of management mode and technology are given to promote the strategic optimization and adjustment of direction of the following development of Xijiang.In brief, the research on Chinese culture villages, especially remote and less developed ethnic minority villages, is vitally important. Researches based on this will be a significant part to carry forward Chinese rich culture.
