Ship Stability is one of the important contents of ship navigation performan-ce, which is a prerequisite to ensure the safe navigation of the ship. The researc-h of the ship stability involves many aspects, and it is a important research dire-ction in the shipbuilding industry. In general, the ship stability includes the ship floating condition and initial stability, large angle stability, then checking the sh-ip’s stability in still water. In reality, the ship often sails in waves, and the wav-es have a certain impact on the stability of the ship, which can not be ignored, so sometimes you must consider the impact of waves on t-he stability of the ship.The traditional methods of researching ship stability need a lot of complex calculations, which is a huge amount of work and costs a lot of manpower and material resources. This paper mainly uses the technology of secondary developm-ent, and adopts Solidworks of three-dimensional design software as the platform for graphical representation, and Microsoft application files are stored in the des-ign process, using Visual Basic programming language, to study the ship stabili-ty dimensional calculation method and develop the corresponding ship stability ca-lculation software.The paper is divided into four modules, including static hydraulic calculation module, complete stability calculation module, damage stability calculation modu-le and wave stability calculation module. Hydrostatic calculation module can cal-culate shipping hydrostatic factor curves and calculate the inleting angle curve; in-tact stability calculation module can calculate the ship stability at a certain load condition, and the stability of the ship is checked on the basis of specifications; damage stability calculation module can calculate the damage stability of ship at a certain load condition, and check the damage stability of ship on the basis of specifications; wave stability calculation module can calculate static stability curv-e of the ship in a different wave height state, and compare the impact of wave on stability of the ship.The paper introduces the key technology of ship stability calculation method based on 3D model Through examples of verification, the paper shows that, u-sing the method relevant commands can be automated, parameterized, visually and quickly realized, and the system interface is simple and practical, which ha-s a good human-computer interaction. The user can quickly complete the calcul-ation of the ship stability through a simple program operating, reducing the co-mputing time, which greatly increases the efficiency of the staff and reduces co-sts, and it has a strong practicability.
