In the international environment of the rapid development of the ship industry, Chinese government promulgated the policy reform to keep up with the pace of development in the world and commit to the construction and development of sea power. The ship monitoring and alarm system as an important part of ship automation, its main function is the running status of all kinds of equipment and operating parameters of ship engine room monitoring, ensures the safety of the ship, stable and reliable running. CANopen protocol as the application layer protocol of CAN bus, a detailed definition of the content data transmission function, data communication, equipment to provide an open and unified description of series of service, network management. The CANopen protocol has been widely used in the field of ship automation.Firstly, based on the "Shipbuilding Industry Standards of the People’s Republic of China", the "The ship industry standard system", the "Classification Rules of Steel Sea-going Vessel" and CANopen CiA DS301, DS401, DS404, DSP307 and related documentations, the overall design scheme and the main function of each section of the system are established, including CANopen DPU data acquisition and processing, upload master station communication card dual redundant CAN bus communication system, alarm system function interface design and the backstage data control and maintenance of several parts.To determine the overall design scheme, design and implementation of each module of the system. Data acquisition DPU selected for the German Systec WORXX series CANopen I/O X2 X4, X5, and Kongsberg K-600 DPU devices, corresponding to the digital quantity input, analog input pressure, thermal resistance RTD input, TC thermocouple input modules. The master station communication card with USBCAN-2I device with double CAN channel, realize the redundancy CAN bus functions through software programming. Under the Windows operating system using Visual Studio 2010 MFC programming to realize the system, which has the functions of real-time monitoring and control, alarm display interface design and setup, data backup and print, trend chart, alarm and other functions. Through the C/C++ language control procedures and maintenance of the background data, connect the ADO object and using Access database to store monitoring parameter information, through the SQL language to operate the database.Finally, the hardware and software for the test of the standard in accordance with China and International classification system implemented, the experimental results show that, the system is stable and normal, can meet the design requirements.
