The Software Design Of Monitoring And Alarm System In Marine Engine Room

Engine Room Alarm/Monitoring System is a important part of automation system on board, it's main function is to monitor&control working status and data of electrical and mechanical equipments, at the same it indicate, alarm, control and record accordingly. The reliability is directly influenced with safety navigation. The first generation system is based on relay or semiconductor which is not fit with development of above system now and requirement of IMO and classification society. In order to adapt to this new requirement, PLC takes relay over become the main tache of automation, and makes the control and monitoring system more safe, prompt and credibility.In the current voyage, the working situations and parameters are always changeable in every time, in order to get more information and can control them in Engine Control Room, we need a real time and reliably monitoring and alarm system. This is the importance of the system.It is taking the new teaching and training ship YUKUN of DMU as the model ship to design my system . The monitoring and alarm system of YUKUN makes use of modularize"ideology, and makes the system, off several modules:data acquisition module,communication module, control module and display module. In this Paper, it discussed the basic theory of data acquisition, including the theory of the measuring bridge. On the other hand, in this paper also introduce the development of PLCs and its strongpoint, Another Point in my paper is the PROFIBUS. At last, using the Windows as the flat, visualizing computer programming language RSView Supervisory Edition as the programming tool, accomplishes the design of the monitoring and alarm system software. This software has a much friendlier human-computer interface.
