To collect information and do investigation in the areas where no people live or are too dangerous for human to reach, an academe of our country use an unmanned aerial vehicles flew over the target in the area for acquisition, throw 12 signal collectors carried by the vehicles in turns in the manner accordance with the timing shed. In order to achieve the desired results, it required the collector spread along the direction of the flight and array in the manner of two arranged equidistant. To achieve this arrangement, the parachutes of the 12 collectors should take different time-lapses to be unfolded, the parachutes unfold at different occasions and adjust their posture at different occasions. A different occasion to adjust the posture decides the point where to land, and the height, speed, and other factors will lead different time-lapse schemes, for those reasons, this project requires the development of an delay equipment to unfold the parachute which can be controlled by electronic and set the delay online,(we called delay device in short). Delay device installed in the cabin of each collector, it can receive the delay time intelligent generated by the host computer and control the schedule for unfolding the parachute.This controller is mainly composed of the control unit, the detection unit, the energy storage unit, trigger circuit and the communication interface in this paper. This device adopts Atmega164 pv MCU as the core control chip and communicates with the aircraft host computer by 485 bus, and on the basis of their owns address the parachute deployment delay controllers of the 12 collectors choose the 12 delay time sent by host computer and store them. It sets the moment which the collector separates from the aircraft as the delay origin, delays the time according to the set time, starts the ignition circuit after the delay, detonates the parachute device, pops off the drogue parachutes and adjusts the posture of the collector. This controller has many characteristics, such as a high communication baud rate, delay time setting online, testing online, accurate delay, low power consumption, high reliability and so on. After the ground alignment test with the core controlling computer, electromagnetic compatibility test and environment test, the results show that this controller can communicate with the core controlling computer on the basis of the predetermined communication protocol, accept the setting and detecting command of core controller, complete the specified function, delay accurately, and operate reliably. So this controller meets the technical requirement.
