As natural disasters is growing, students’ safety issue has become particularly prominent. In "5.12Wenchuan earthquake", primary and middle schools suffered the most serious. At the same time it also shows the school’s advantages as a disaster-prevention space, which makes the state and society also began to pay attention to the environment of primary and middle schools, campus can take advantage of this opportunity to fully exploit as an emergency space resources. In the disaster, campus can provide protection for the surrounding residents and the safety of students and teachers, and provide enough shelter space in the aftermath. For society and the school, it is very beneficial. However, the current schools don’t build as an emergency suspension space for evacuation under the condition of construction standard, how to know that a school’s effective disaster-area, population carrying capacity of disaster, this is what we have to think about.Based on this background, this article takes the internal space of ordinary primary and middle schools in the city as the research object, from the features and requirements of emergency suspension space for evacuation, to explore its feasibility as an emergency suspension space for evacuation, in order to find the effective area coefficient with no disaster recovery construction of emergency suspension space for evacuation standard case, to cope with the disaster prevention planning area, and contribute to the school after the construction of disaster prevention.This article changes not only the practice of the sports venues as a shelter, but the primary and middle schools as a whole should be brought into the disaster prevention system, the comprehensive analysis of disaster influence the ability of the space, try to find more accurate and effective coefficient of disaster area. Mainly expounds the following contents:First of all, the article analyzes and discusses from three aspects---the advantages of school space resources, disaster psychology and behavior,as well as the possibility of function transformation when the disaster happens.It relates primary and middle schools are suitable to be used as the emergency suspension space for evacuation.Secondly, the qualitative and quantitative analysis of the influencing factors of the effective areas of refuge for primary and middle schools, such as analysis of architectural space, green space, space activities space, road and square space as well as the whole school space and so on, sort out the effective range of disaster area coefficient for middle and primary schools as a shelter in our country under the related national standards, and provide theory support for the next step in the analysis of actual case.Finally, the article compares several research school of practical and effective disaster-area coefficient with coefficient ranges under the standard range, such as Gengma, Jianchuan and Luchun three typical mountain small town primary and middle schools, analyzes comprehensively the influencing factors which they can’t meet the standard and effective coefficient in the disaster, and gives my own advice, provide the basis for achieving the optimization and adjustment of the existing primary and middle schools standard indicators and disaster prevention index,as well as its direction as suspension space construction provides the basis for later.
