Oil is an important primary energy source. It is significant to the development of national economy. The collection and output of oil can’t depart from the support of electric power. The oilfield power grid is an infrastructure to provide electric power. its reliability is an indicator of what oil companies focus on. Therefore, it is meaningful to analyze the supply reliability of oilfield power grid according to its characteristics, and to seek for further measures to improve the reliability of oilfield power grid.Based on the reliability analysis of conventional oilfield power grid, this paper analyzes the characteristics of pumping unit which is the main load of oilfield power grid. Try to find more targeted measures to improve the reliability of power grid.First of all, this paper analyzes the load characteristics of pumping unit from three aspects of periodicity, uncertainty and simultaneity. Secondly, this paper calculates the reliability indicator of oilfield power grid using analytical method, and how the failure rate and repair time of line, the failure rate and repair time of circuit breaker and the T-type connection affect the reliability of grid are analyzed. Thirdly, focus on the simultaneous rate of pumping unit load, this paper calculates the reliability indicator of power grid in different simultaneous rate of pumping unit. Finally, according to the study above, takes an oilfield power grid as a example, this paper proposes seven measures to improve the reliability level of power grid from the point of grid structure and regulation of pumping simultaneous rate. The reliability indicators of each measure are calculated.
