Personal Protective Equipment Management And Cost Controlling In Foreign EPC Project

EPC has gradually dominated the modern engineering projects. As the most important personal safety guarantee during the work progress, personal protective equipments are a necessity for construction. The selection, purchase, supply, distribution and other management work of the personal protective equipments play a crucial role in attaining a smooth running of the project.This article decomposed the workflow of the whole management work through case analyses on the management work of personal protective equipments in overseas EPC and by studying how to manage such equipments and conduct reasonable cost control on the premise of ensuring progress works. It summarized solutions targeted varied conditions in the management work of personal protective equipments and the current project management level, combining the practical issues encountered in the case projects. It discovered and resolved the various conditions possibly confronted during the project implementation through decomposition analyses on the different quantity demanded and the different timeliness for the personal protective equipments in each stage of the whole EPC and the work in all stages, including purchase, transport, storage, and distribution etc, of the personal protective equipments. It analyzed the management work of personal protective equipments from the cost control perspective, on the premise of ensuring the implementation of the project as planned, and it sought to achieve a balance of the timeliness and economical efficiency of the personal protective equipments during the project through optimizing work pattern and workflow.Based on those studies, this article confirmed effective means and methods for the management of personal protective equipments during the EPC and established a complete, practical and operable workflow for personal protective equipments, ranging from the setting up of the purchase plan to the distribution, providing a referential paradigm for the future overseas EPC in terms of the management of personal protective equipments.
