Landscape discipline background of Michael ?Van?Valkenburgh, his identity of pioneer of thought as well as his comprehensive but not radical landscape concept make him the inevitable choice on the research of landscape development from the perspective of landscape discipline.This paper systematically analyzes Michael ?Van?Valkenburgh’s landscape design works, and makes a relatively comprehensive summary of his design concept, in order to get some guidance on the landscape industry.
