Draping Penetrating

This research paper takes the museum space as its research direction. First of all, itstates the museum’s spatial pattern and shows respectively the six space patterns of themuseum architecture, including indoor space, outdoor space, entity space, virtual space, staticspace and dynamic space. Secondly, there are four characteristics of campus museum whichenables it to distinguish from other kind of museums: feature of blending，feature ofprofessionalization, expansion of education and availability of building space.To take the design scheme of Shaanxi Fashion Engineering University Museum as anexample, SFEU on-site investigations and considerations and evaluations of its existingbuildings are conducted. The design take “draping”-garment specialty’s peculiar theory as itsdesign language and “penetrating” as its architectural language to reflect the feature ofabsence of the museum building. Meanwhile, a secondary-design and reconstruction are madeby the museum spatial pattern concept stated in this paper which enable the design be moreadapted to campus culture atmosphere and bring people strong artistic feeling and sense ofparticipation. Thus, innovation and actual usability of the museum architecture is proved byengineering implementation proposed in this paper.
