With the rapid development of economic globalization and the constructionof modernization in China in recent years, heavy truck plays an important role inthe construction of modernization of China, it can realize the efficient allocationof resources and the rapid circulation of goods. After the financial crisis, ourindustry in China is booming, especially heavy truck is facing a goodopportunity of development with its design and manufacture increasing year byyear. But compared with the well-known foreign brands of heavy truck, there isa huge gap whether in the manufacturing process or in the design of heavy truck.Heavy truck has been designed from the initial functional design to the highperformance, the comfort in human-computer, the excellent design. Practical,comfortable and beautiful future has gradually become a new requirementsdirection of the heavy truck.As a first step in the development modeling design is the most importantaspect which is placed in front of the Chinese nation industry of heavy truck. Inearly stages of development the major heavy truck manufacturers in China arelearning and imitating the foreign well-known heavy truck in the technology, theappearance of design, ergonomics, comfort of the heavy trucks’ advanced indicators. They can not be able to form their own unique brand image featureswhile its "face" is hosting brand characteristic as an important design elements.These conditions reflect a lack of understanding and thinking of the nature of theproduct design for designers. In recent years, the competition has becomeevident in our heavy truck market, while the foreign famous heavy truckInfluxes in the way of joint ventures and technology transfer making heavy truckof China be closer to the international level in the design and manufacturing, itis showing their brand image features gradually.In this paper, the law of modeling that is scientific and rational for Volvoheavy truck and extraction method of "front face" brand styling features areexplored by the rules of modeling aesthetics and laws of the plane constitutionhoping to give design and development in the right direction for heavy truck ofChina, accelerating the process of forming our own "face" brand image featuresfor heavy truck of China. Finally, a Volvo heavy truck is designed with thedesign method of front face and its brand image features.
