| There are strong signs that,with the population ageing, the issues of theelderly’s medical and health become more and more extrusive. Under thissituation, household medical check becomes an important settlement againstsocial pressure of geriatric medical. This article mainly discussed about thehousehold medical monitor for the elderly, aiming at promoting the applymentof family medical and providing theory support about this field.This article used function-driven analysis method. The reason why takingthis method areas follows. Firstly, function is the most important one of the threeelements in product design. It represents for the basic values and premises ofproducts. However theoretical researches on the function-driven design are quitefew,especially researches about household medical monitor design. Secondly,medical monitor has a close association with human’s life and health,itsreliability is extremely essential. Finally, physical disability of elderly usersrequires that designers should be more serious and caring about function design.This article discussed about the three properties of elderly householdmedical monitor products: elderly property, family property, monitoring property,so that the effective design methods in this field can be discovered. Thisarticle concludes that: sensory compensatory strategy, information designstrategy, case management strategy, and operational optimization strategy canbe used for medical monitors product design for the elderly.Then this article sorted out function-driven design methods by studying therelation between function design and household medical monitor for the elderly.Two main issues were discussed, which are function expression and functiondesign process.Then, the paper used the function system analysis technique,function tree, function expressions to analyze the typical household medicalproducts. When analyzing every step of the function design process,examples ofhousehold medical monitor products were discussed. At the last, typical functionissues of household medical monitor products were studied,appropriate functional solutions are found out. By using "function-behaviour-structure" mapping, the disvantages of certain design can be found,thus promoting to put forward improved designs. Man-machine engineeringprinciple can be used in operation design. Information design method can beused in interface design.Function-first principle can be used in simply stylemolding design. In order to reduce the psychological stress during testing,neutral color or non-color should be used. Fully closed structure andeasy-cleaning materials help to keeping instrument cleaning. Simplifyingoperations helps to using the monitor conveniently. Finally, by redesigning the househood glucose meter, the research results andmethods were applied in it. To be specific,a siphonal blood lancet were put in it,thussimplifying the operation procedure and the structure.with this practice,the researchresult and design methods were proved reseaonable. |
