With the rapid development of society and the changing international environment,in order to remain invincible in the economic development and fierce competition,the high quality products must be introduced to enhance their competitiveness.The conceptual design of the product is the core of the introduction of the new product with high quality.Function expansion is a functional logic design method based on function concept of product,which can provide direction for product conceptual design.TRIZ theory is a very perfect invention to solve problems,which provides technical solutions of the design problem for workers.The main content of this paper is how to integrate organically the function expansion and TRIZ theory,and develop their own advantages,to complete the development of new products and to redesign of existing products..The paper introduces in detail the basic knowledge of the function expansion,operation process,important function expansion method and Objective functional logic method for different problems.This paper summarizes the theoretical system of TRIZ theory,the process of solving technical problems,and the problem solving model and corresponding tools used in conceptual design,including the HOW TO model and scientific effect knowledge base,substance field analysis model and standard solution etc..Then,the advantages of the expanded function and TRIZ theory and their defects are analyzed,the combination of function expansion and TRIZ theory organically and reasonably are put forward.Give full play to their respective advantages,together to complete the research and development of new products and existing products to improve the innovative design.On the basis of system analysis for new product development,first through user surveys,determine the main function for the object,using the function expansion and the functional logic method of purpose for new products,to determine the existence of various sub functions in order to achieve the main function,after finishing the construction of a functional system model,and then using the TRIZ theory for solving function of each sub function,finally based on the theory of system analysis,a new product design method based on function expansion and TRIZ theory is proposed.Based on the idea of component analysis for the innovation and improvement of existing products,first of all,according to the existing products to build a structural model,the flow model and the objective function concept is Introduced.The function of component structure is obtained by using the existing method base,knowledge base and structure to function mapping function.And a functional structure model based on objective function is established.Analysis of the functional model of the lack of function or lack of functionality,and to make improvement.The improved function or missing function is used as an object.By using the function expansion and the objective function logic method,a better method function is obtained,the corresponding function model is constructed.And through the tool of TRIZ.with the existing knowledge base and experience to complete the functional solution,so based on the idea of component analysis,a new design method based on function expansion and TRIZ theory is established.In the end,the speed control function of the new design and the innovative design of the automatic express packaging machine are realized by the method,which verifies the validity of the design route and provides an idea for the designer.
