Design And Implementation Of Simulated TCAS Software On A Flight Simulator

Traffic alert and Collision Avoidance System (TCAS) can automatically detect and track aircraft nearby, supply visual and audio warning messages for pilots.In accordance with the rules of the air Traffic control, pilots control the aircraft, make the maneuver to avoid the collision to ensure flight safety. Training with traffic alert and collision avoidance system in a flight simulator, has become a necessary subject in pilots’ initial and recurrent training.In this thesis, firstly introduced the principle and the data transmission protocol, combined with a certain type of TCASII system developed by the actual demand, designed a general TCASII simulation system architecture, including airborne TCAS signal processing procedure and key module of system function. After analysis the signals influence with TCAS’s sensitivity, which from ADS, AHS and hydraulic systems, this thesis designed a model to simulated a multi-aircrafts conflict scenarios, that is meet the requirements of the ATC control rules. After complete the in-depth study of the simulation object, simulates with the TCAS equipment on the choice of the sensitivity, alarm threshold limit, collision avoidance decision process. According to the subject training purpose and each phase during flight, designed the traffic or invasion scenario:the TA and the Airport scenario is for indicating the nearby air traffic, and the RA scenario is focus on collision avoidance decision. IData software is used in the simulation as man-machine interface development tools, developed a simulation TVI display software, and in a certain transport simulator project function and performance verification.The results of this thesis has been applied to a certain type of aircraft flight simulator project, and has set up a formal use by foreign users, high-level simulator project for the future related system simulation development laid a solid foundation.
