Traffic alert and collision avoidance system(TCAS) is a crucial part of aircraft environment surveillance system(AESS). This system is an electronic airborne system independent of air traffic control system, which is important for the security of the flight. Conflict detection and resolution are important functions in this system. When there is a collision risk, the system should give the alarm and compute the conflict resolution route, which can guide the flight.In this paper, the background, research meaning and the status are introduced first. Then the system composition, operating principle and the model of protection zone are described in detail. All of above lay a solid foundation for the following jobs.The conflict detection model is proposed based on extrapolation method, and the vertical collision avoidance is analyzed. The strategy of collision resolution is established to achieve the purpose of the conflict resolution of two planes. Based on this algorithm, the corresponding software is programmed, which can give the resolution path according to the scene in time. Through reading and updating parameters, the function of human-computer interaction is achieved. The software connects with the man-in-loop simulation platform through the Ethernet. The simulation verification is made under the relevant scenarios to prove the effectiveness of the algorithm.Last, the collision resolution of multiple aircrafts is researched. To overcome the shortcomings of traditional algorithms, the ant colony algorithm is improved by introducing the “angle information” and the “elite strategy”. The improved ant colony algorithm is integrated with the plane model to compute the resolution path. Through the simulation, the approach proposed in the article is effective. The calculation results and efficiency are better than traditional methods.
