Increasing power and decreasing engine block vibration are long term goals of thedevelopment of the modern engine. As the achievements on the new energy power are comingup all the time, the wobble plate engine discussed in this paper is attracted wide attention andapprobation in the industry by its ingenious high power density and low vibration.The paper based on the project of wobble plate engine was designed and developed byNorth University of China. In this paper, the dynamic performance of z-axle and diskmechanism, the key structure, is systematically surveyed, the motion situation of the multi-movement wobble-plate and the positioning guide rod was explored. The whole researchmight be useful for structure designing and performance optimization of the engine.The primary contents are as follows:Under the structure and operational principle of wobble plate engine, the structure andfunctions of the z-axle and disk mechanism are described in detail, for the high differencewith the traditional. Besides, through analysis on comparing with the reciprocating engine andgas turbine in their procession, circulance and power range, in this paper, superiority andcharacters are discussed, and the difficulties recently are pointed.According to the traditional design concept of the crank link motion gear of reciprocatingengine, two linking methods are proposed, which can constrained wobble–plate for nutationmovement completely. Then, the two situations are improved by the interaction power. With aanalysis of the requirements of the combustor of wobble-plate engine,the paper completed itspreliminary design. Which offer theoretical support for the subsequent dynamics loadapplied. The dynamic simulation model of the z-axle and wobble-plate mechanism is created onthe basis of increasing effective components rationally. Through analysis on comparing withthe results of the complexities in the mathematical model, the dynamic simulation model isverified.With the analysis of the motion law of the wobble-plate nutation, the difference of theoutput shaft Angle of30degrees on other side of the wobble-plate is defined, the movementtype of the location guide is discussed by dynamic analyzing on the simulation model.According to the above, the improvement solution about linking method is put forward.
