With the development of modern industry, the scope of application of process equipmentis increasingly widespread. Sintering furnace as the main process equipment, its main functionis heat transfer and reaction of solid or liquid. Due to the particularity of process equipmentworking conditions, pressure and temperature is usually very high. Traditional way of pressurevessel design gradually cannot guarantee safety. The traditional design method of pressurevessel is safety coefficient method. Safety coefficient values are generally large to ensuresafety. But a high safety factor is not exactly same as a high degree of safety. So the stressanalysis of pressure vessels is very necessary. This paper analyzes the designing scheme ofpressure vessel; Make stress analysis stress analysis for sintering furnace as the representativeof typical pressure vessel by analyzing the typical design methodsBased on the second-order moment method and finite element method, make thereliability analysis for shell and discontinuous structure. And optimize the sintering furnaceaccording to the results of stress analysis and reliability analysis. Then the stress and structureof sintering furnace has been greatly improved.Based on no moment theory basic equations, elastic-plastic mechanics and smalldeflection theory of elastic plate, obtains the stress expressions of internal pressure vesselincluding the thin wall cylinder and thick wall cylinder, spherical shell, flat-plant head underdifferent conditions. According to the stress expression and the second moment method in thereliability analysis, obtains the reliable expressions of the thin wall cylinder, thick wallcylinder and small deflection pressure-bearing plate. According to the classification of stressanalysis method of discontinuous portion and assessment method, determines the limit loadanalysis method of pressure vessel discrete part. And using the finite element method obtainsthe probability analysis method of discontinuous portion. Based on the analysis results, makesstress analysis and reliability analysis for sintering furnace, and optimizes it. Althoughtraditional design results in sintering furnace is qualified, and reliability evaluation also can beaccept, but the above two analysis results show that the design margin is too large. The peakstress decreased by15%on average of the sintering furnace by the same volume after optimizing. In the following topology analysis of parts of sintering furnace, the qualityreduced by18%.
