Research On Application Of BIM In The Schedule Management Of The Construction Project

In recent years, traditional construction schedule management technology and method could not adapt to the project nowadays along with more new technologies used in the building and the more complex construction technologies. BIM, as a new technology has emerged in the building and construction industry. The introduction of BIM in the schedule management of construction project can enhance the schedule control ability of project manager and reduce the risk of project delays and can save construction duration at the same time. It brings convenient for the schedule management of the project while creating huge benefits. However the application of BIM technology in China is not yet universal. The lack of experience in engineering practice and immature theoretical researches has affected the generalization of BIM in China. Therefore, there is need for farther theoretical study and application of BIM technology in the schedule management of project.In this paper, BIM technology is used to assist the schedule management. The research object of this paper is BIM and schedule management. From the perspective of the contractor, this article focus on the application of BIM in the schedule management in the construction phase. Firstly, the basic theories of schedule management were introduced. Traditional techniques were analyzed to find the problems in project schedule management. Then, the advantages and value of BIM technology was analyzed. The BIM model and the traditional schedule management method is combined to form the4D model for the simulation of construction process to demonstrate our specific ideas and steps. Thirdly, the status of the practical application of BIM in construction projects is analyzed to mine the obstacles and difficulties that affect the application of BIM and some promotion solutions is proposed in this section. Finally, a project in Dalian is chose as the case to present the establishment of BIM model for construction phase and the BIM-based schedule management comprehensively.I hope this study can provide useful guidance for the subsequent research and application of BIM technology in construction enterprises and the building and construction industry.
