Research On The Evaluation Of Residential Built Environment Based On The Needs Of The Residents

The dissertation reviews the research status of the theory and practice of POE(Post-Occupancy Evaluation) and residential BEE (Built Environment Evaluation). Italso summarizes the methods and application scope of residential BEE, and analyzes thecurrent standard of the residents’ requirement on living environment. Meanwhile, on thebasis of empirical research，the author tries to apply “structuralist” and humanist”evaluation methods to discuss residential BEE.Firstly, starting from the theory and method of residential BEE，the dissertationanalyses the basic needs of residents and defines the current standard of the residents’requirement. Based on this standard and the systematic structure of residential builtenvironment，the dissertation extracts the elements of evaluation，selects the appropriateindex，designs the evaluation indexes system，and determine the index weight by AHP(Analytic Hierarchy Process).Secondly，in order to explore the possibility of integrated use of “structuralist” and“humanist” evaluation methods to study residential BEE，the dissertation identifies theresidents as the evaluation subject and the residents’ satisfaction degree evaluation asevaluation method to conduct fuzzy comprehensive evaluation on the residential builtenvironment in empirical case. After that, the dissertation makes the researcher as theevaluation subject to assess and analyze the residential built environment byquestionnaire, participant observation and interview. According to the results ofevaluation research, the dissertation explores the strategies for residential environmentdesign based on residents’ requirement.In the end, the conclusions and innovative points of this study are stated, followedby the problems and limitations for further research and the improvement measures.
