Currently, physical inactivity has become widespread worldwide, and the resulting health challenges are becoming more and more serious.Under this background, the research on the built environment and physical activity has become one of the hotspots of interdisciplinary research in the world. However, there are relatively few studies on the built environment evaluation of urban communities based on physical activity promotion, and the empirical research conclusions of localization in my country have not been actively used..In view of this, this paper draws on evidence-based concepts and attempts to construct a set of evidence-based models and methods for urban community built environment assessment from the perspective of physical activity promotion,in order to contribute to the improvement of urban community built environment assessment theory and the optimization of community built environment. This paper firstly sorts out the existing related research, reviews the basic theory and summarizes the conclusions of domestic empirical research, and on this basis, constructs an evaluation model composed of three evaluation dimensions: vitality and tolerance, convenience and accessibility, and comfort and cleanliness.According to the evaluation model, objective evaluation and subjective evaluation are established by index analysis method, analytic hierarchy process and fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method, and comprehensive evaluation method is formed by establishing comprehensive evaluation analysis matrix.Afterwards, the evaluation model and method were used to conduct empirical evaluation and comparative research on three typical communities in Changsha, helping to identify the key built environment elements that affect physical activity in different types of communities. The empirical evaluation and comparative study of typical communities in Changsha show that the evaluation model and method constructed in this paper have certain applicability, and the following conclusions are drawn:(1)The built environment of different types of communities has different degrees of support for physical activity.(2)The overall situation of the objective evaluation results and the subjective evaluation results of the same community is basically the same, and the subjective evaluation results of the same dimension of the same community are generally higher than the objective evaluation results, indicating that the community’s investment in planning and construction will benefit the community.Residents’ recognition;(3)There are not only common problems in different types of communities, but also differences between communities. In the end, this paper also draws on the existing experience at home and abroad to create an optimization framework composed of optimization objectives, optimization ideas and optimization mechanisms, and propose specific optimization strategies for different types of communities.
