(Tentatively Research On Architectural Experience Of Resort Hotels)

As the economy is booming and people’s living standards are improving dramatically, Consumers have being focus on the pursuit of mental satisfaction rather than consuming itself. The concepts about tourism are changing indeed. It is changing from visiting attractions only into enjoying the holidays. As an important component of tourism, the design of resorts should focus more on costumers’mental satisfaction. Besides simple rest and relaxation, the body and mind also get pleasure and purification at the same time. Costumers also hope to harvest special feeling and a unique memory in the resorts.This paper aims at the design of villa resorts through literature review and field investigation. Through the analyses of the existing problems in resort hotel designs, as well as the understanding of the user’s actual psychological needs and behavior characteristics in China, designs of the space experience in villa resort hotel have been optimized. Combined with the visual experience of color, light and landscape, the tactile experience of traditional and modern materials, the auditory experience of the nature of sound, echo, silence and loneliness, and the smell and taste experience, this paper discusses the interaction and transformation between the perceptual experiences. Through the designing of Cui Feng Ecological Park Resort in Kunming, theories studies in this paper have been practiced. The research and designs in this project are useful for the furture projects.
