The design uses diesel of eight cylinders as subject in the research, with majorparameters including cylinder temperature of engine, the temperature of cooling water in inlet,the temperature of cooling water in outlet, oil pressure, real-time speed. Hardware systembased on S3C2440ARM microprocessor core, designs frontal channel, memory system,man-machine interface, communication module of GPRS, GPS module and power system etc.Software system uses Linux operating system as the core. Software development platform isbuilt, including the establishment of Linux development environment, transplantation ofBootLoader, cutting and transplantion concerned Linux kernel, building of root file system.Man-manchine interface of engine status mortoring system is designed by QT technology.Getting the position of faulty equipments is realized by GPS system and sending real-timedata by GPRS netwaork.The system is applied the GPS technology and GPRS technology to the enginemornitoring system to realize transmission of monitoring data with long distance and couldmonitor the position of mechanical equipments. If equipments not work, monitoring systemwill send the failure data and position of equipments to control center or technical severs atonce, in order to take steps in advance. By analysising important position and failureinformation to find objective factors between the landform, temperature, humidity and eginefailure, will improve maintenance efficiency and use efficiency of egine.Compared with the traditional testing instruments, the monitoring system is monitoringthe egine status in real time by data collecting circuit, including temperature sensors, pressuresensors, speed sensors. Monitoring data is storgaged and managed by S3C2440microprocessor to realize the function of engine warning, recording about monitoring data.This system can design kind man-machine interface to improve the ability by using QTtechnology. Due to the application of microprocessor, not only the size of monitoringequipments is smaller, but also the monitoring precision, data processing power and storagecapacity is stronger. The introduction of Linux operating system makes monitoring system tobe more reliable and stable.
