As one branch of space design, teaching space design gradually grows up its own designprinciples under the influence of rapid development of society. Nowadays in China educationhas made considerable progress, and many universities have constructed new campuses.Comparing with the old campuses, the architectures in new campuses are much more modernwith a lot of functional information mediums in them. For example, Xiangshan Campus ofChina Academy of Art pays more attention to integrated environment and ecologicalenvironmental protection, and imitates the development patterns of both Chinese and westernuniversity campuses which creates a reasonable function division and blends architecture, space, landscaping and natural environment together to build the open and landscape stylecampus environment. The general arrangement should start with terrain and environmentalquality, follow the principle of concision and high-efficiency, and take the future developmentvariability and integrality into consideration. Comparing with integrated planning ofXiangshan Campus of China Academy of Art, the interior design of building space weakens alot. Good teaching environment is helpful for both teachers and students. Educational patternin foreign countries is always open and free, which could inspire the potentials of students. Therefore the educational architectural design and interior space design adopt audaciouscolors and novelty mould. For example in Swanston College of RMIT University, the patternof building facade is colorful map with processed pixelate of architectures around it. While itsmain interior space use lots of colorful and bright geometric patterns. The outline, characteristic, color, material, furniture of each space all refer to the landmark around thebuilding.Comparing with normal building types, every university has its own design style ofarchitecture. Relatively exaggerated design, adventurous application, as well as interventions of function and information media will create a unique teaching space. According tosome questionnaire survey on the internet, university students have more requirements ofteaching space, such as the regional division, function of space, lighting, and facility. Goodteaching space is helpful for both teachers and students. Unique and creative teaching space isalso a new breakthrough in the field of interior design.
