This article uses LEAN production concept to make a process layout design for machining centers of enterprises for manufacture and overhaul of wagons.This article firstly states the background and conditions for process layout design, then states and analyzes process layout from6aspects including definition of process layout, entity of process layout, influence factors for process layout, target of process layout, basic forms and requirements for process layout and appraisal standards for good process layout, and also clarifies the process layout standard to be reached in this article.Process layout concept to be followed by this article——LEAN production core concept. This article makes a brief description of the history of LEAN production; analyzes the basic target and final target that LEAN production seeks; finds out6factors for LEAN production: smooth production, employees environment participation, work field organization, production performability, quality system, materials movement; clarifies "one flow" as the core concept of LEAN production.Based on one flow as the LEAN production’s core concept, makes process layout design for SC company’s machining centers from10aspects including design idea, major products, process layout design for safety rope, process layout design for cross rod end head, process layout design for standard part production, entire process layout, process layout for lathes, process layout for millers, process layout for scrap iron box and hoisting and transport equipments.
