| The monument of Nanjing Mingxiaoling Mausoleum started in the year of1405,and finished in1413. It was the tower of the monument, which is set up by ZhuDi forhis father, ZhuYuanZhang. Because of the natural weathering and the wars fire, themonument tower was damaged badly. It s wooden part was all destroyed and only thestone foundation and the brick walls survived.Firstly, the set selection and the layout of the mausoleums before the MingXiaoLing are analysed, and the tower s great impact and the example for the futuregeneration of imperial mausoleums was confirmed. Secondly, the history of themonument, the construction and renovation of the tower are outlined, and the plane ofthe plinth and the foundation, the elevation and section are analysed, based on thedocument literature, mining report and the fields surveying and mapping. It allbecome the basis of the restoration research.Last but not the least, the restoration research include Dougong s size andnumber, wooden roof s shape and structure, ceiling s pattern, the paintings and theglaze. And then, complete the plans, elevations, sections and more details of therestoration research to the monument in Ming XiaoLing Mausoleum. I hope therestoration research can supple and complete the research of the official architectureof the Ming Dynasty, especially the monument tower, and could be the reference tothe protection of the historical and culture architecture. |
