The constant development of information technology brings opportunities for the rapiddevelopment of power grid. The improvement of operation and management efficiency ofpower grid must rely on unmanned substation established by information technology andcentralized control station as well as the with higher reliability and stability. Once occurs theoperation trouble in substation electrical equipment, they could detect and delete those troublesfirst time. The fault diagnosis method of substation is always the manual inspection, whichlooks over and checks the operation condition of substation equipment according to certainperiod. This method not only has low efficiency but also low safety factor. Currently, computersupervisory control system has widely applied into unmanned substation, but its main functionis controlling and managing substation, without referring to electrical equipment fault diagnosisfield.Based on the background, this paper develops a set of intelligent monitoring system ofelectrical equipment of unmanned substation. This paper is divided into four parts.First, it discusses the the common fault sound analysis and precautionary measure of themain electrical equipment of unmanned substation. These equipment include powertransformer,electric transformer,capacitor and GIS equipment.Then, it analyzes the technology methods of monitoring system and gets the systemdesign scheme and function design. The system functions contain sound signal collecting andprocessing function, sound signal transmission and fault identification function, theestablishment of audio database and man machine interactive function.Then, it takes the system hardware design and software design works. The designedhardware incorporate sound signal collection model, sound process model, sound signaltransmission and fault identification function,man machine interactive function,power supplymodel and anti-interference model. The designed software include sound collection andreal-time playback software, sound compression and transmission software, sound characteristic quantity and spectral analysis software, sound recording and storage software,communication software and audio characteristic database.Last, it analyzes the pilot run condition of system after finishing the design works ofmonitoring system and completes field installation and debugging works as well as takes thepilot run after defining the general performance index of system.Through analysis and research,this paper aims at designing one intelligent monitoringsystem with higher reliability, which could timely and correctly detect and solve the troublesduring the operation of electrical equipment and improve the efficiency of unmannedsubstation.
