Anti-seismic Analysis Of Palace Yuan In Xinmi City, Henan Province

Architecture reflects the culture, which can be seen Chinese culture’s past. With the development of antique architecture, research of antique buildings also gradually extended. More researchers focus on the architectural form, but the structure of antique buildings with the modern RC concrete technology got little attention. This paper’s calculation was based on the structure of palace Yuan in Xinmi city, Henan province and discusses the rationality and safety of the structure. With the finite element technology, this paper calculated statics, modal, response spectrum and time-history analysis in finite model by the finite element software. For the comparison, a PKPM modal was also modeled.By the static analysis, strength and stiffness had been checked in horizontal earthquake actions and vertical loadings. The results proved that the structure can meet the requirements of specification. By the modal analysis, the structure’s first15natural frequencies and period were obtained. In order to get the general pattern, it analyses the mode of vibration in X, Y and Z direction. The torsion mode existed in most modal. The maximum displacement and displacement angle were obtained by the spectrum analysis. The most adverse position can be seen in the figures of beam, shell and column to check whether the result can meet the requirements of specification. Two strong shock recorded waves, El-centro wave and Tangshan-Beijing Hotel wave, and an artificial wave were chosen in the time-history analysis. The structure safety can be guaranteed in the result of maximum reaction force, stories shear force and displacement. Compared the shaking table test, antique architecture had the different seismic characteristics. By the comparison of PKPM model and finite element model, the results of calculation showed that the PKPM model was conservative.According the result above, the most adverse position the natural characters can be obtained. It is not only a new research in antique buildings field, but given a suggestion for the structure design.
