A structural-functional mechanism is one kind of mechanism with rules for the changes in structures which consists of more than one movable bars that are link together. The most important qualities of structural-functional mechanisms are expandable and foldable and shape-changing. The mechanisms with expandable and foldable ability can change from expand state to the state of contraction in proportion freely. The mechanisms with shape-changing ability can change shapes through rigid body guidance. In this article, the definition of structural-functional mechanisms is introduced. A method to design shape-changing mechanisms is put forward. A Method by using convolution integral is put to use to calculate the curvature of the curve. The method is used to match the curve based on curvature of the curve. A software is also designed to simplify the design process of shape-changing mechanisms. On the other hand, a mechanism synthesis method of Burmester curve shape-changing mechanisms is also introduced to do mechanism synthesis. Two application examples are put forward to validate the rightness of shape-changing mechanisms theory. The broad application prospects of shape-changing mechanisms are also shown.Besides, a kind of expandable radar calibration sphere based on Scissor-Like Unit is introduced. This article introduces the design theory and method of expandable radar calibration sphere and works out a solution of singular position of expandable radar calibration sphere.A structural-functional mechanism is being researched in this article. A method to design shape-changing mechanisms is put forward. And a kind of expandable radar calibration sphere based on Scissor-Like Unit is introduced.
