In order to circumvent issues like accumulation of products caused by the traditional mass production model, more and more enterprises begin to provide products according to orders of customer requirement. As a result, the mass customization has become a hot topic in research of manufacturing. It has become an urgent problem to be solved that how to meet customer requirement maximized, while shorten delivery time and save costs. Processing customer requirement and using reasonable product configuration design method that combined with computer technology, is an important way to solve this problem, and also the key to achieve mass customization. The issues related to customer requirement are studied, the concept of the behavior nodes is proposed and product configuration model based on the behavior nodes is established in this paper. Meanwhile, the solution to the configuration model and the configuration comprehensive evaluation are researched deeply in this paper. Details are as follows:(1)The characteristics and classification of customer requirement and the way of gaining customer requirement are studied. In order to ensure the reliability and consistency of customer requirement, and turn the fuzzy, incomplete customer requirement into clear, available information for design, formalized description and knowledge representation using framework method of customer requirement are researched.(2)In order to facilitate customer requirement expression and guarantee the feasibility of product configuration, the concept of behavior nodes is put forward. The formal representation of behavior nodes is defined and a product configuration model based on the behavior nodes is established. Internal organization, coupling relations and associated constraint mechanism of nodes are studied. The principles of the division of behavior nodes are studied in this paper. The weight is determined by the method of AHP, the behavior nodes are acquired by the correlation clustering and the maximum node tree method of clustering algorithm.(3)In order to improve the accuracy of customer requirement expression and to make use of the existing cases for enterprise to design new products, the method for solving the product configuration based on the combination of dynamic constraint satisfaction problem (DCSP) and case-based reasoning (CBR) is put forward. The configuration problem is turned into DCSP problem to regulate expression of customer requirement. Then this regulated information is used to retrieve similar cases in case-database by the method of case-based reasoning. To narrow the search space when solving the constraint, a method of layered constraint is put forward. To get the similar cases, similarity calculation of cases is used in the process of query instance, and the case search process is designed.(4)According to characteristics of the evaluation of product configuration solutions, the evaluation model for prefer solutions of product configuration is established by the combination method of analytic hierarchy process and gray relational analysis. As the evaluation subject of the model, customers are allowed to have an optimization of proposed schemes by vague expressions. The ranking of each scheme is presented by calculation of the model so that customers could obtain solutions that best meet their requirements.
