With the development of social economy and improvement of people’s life quality, moreand more people will choose high-speed railway of this low carbon environmental protectionin the travel way. But in the present stage, fossil resources on earth are becoming less and less.In order to develop in the future can last a long time, our country in a period of time in thefuture will be to develop high-speed railway. As the core of high-speed railway, the safety andreliability of the electric locomotive is paid more and more attention. At the present stage ofelectric locomotive main circuit breaker used pneumatic actuator of large volume, high noise,reliability is relatively low, once the failure of the whole system is easy to collapse, with agreater security risk, at the same time of complex equipment repair and maintenance of highdegree. In this paper, the selection of main circuit breaker for electric locomotive as theresearch object, using a new type of electromagnetic mechanism instead of the originalpneumatic actuator, and according to the electromagnetic actuator control system is researchedand designed based on PIC mcu. And the experiments to test their switching speed.This paper studied on the understanding and development of high speed railway andelectric locomotive research process, through the comparison of the existing various powerelectronic components, select IGBT as the main components, with PIC16F873Amicrocontroller as the core control unit, design of the capacitor charge and discharge circuit,switching control circuit, IGBT drive circuit, voltage the monitoring circuit, and draw the PCBlayout, to produce the actual control circuit board.In the software design aspect, uses the modular programming method of softwareprogramming, mainly include: the main program module, capacitance charging module,switching control module, the capacitor charging time detection module. And the actualprogram debugging, further optimization of the design of the whole process.Finally, the hardware and software design of control system with electromagneticmechanism, making the control circuit board correspondingly, were closing test, the testresults show that the design of the electromagnetic actuator control system mechanism canmeet tripping time, locomotive main circuit breaker opening speed, closing time and closingspeed and contact bouncing time requirements and show that by this electromagnetic actuator to replace the original pneumatic mechanism is feasible, the design of the control system canmeet the requirement.
