Highway construction has been along with the booming of Chinese economy. However, with the increasing volume of traffic, the existing asphalt pavement failed to achieve the design life, which results in the service life of road is less than the design life. Roads in many places need to repair or even overhaul shortly after operations. The road early damage not only affect normal traffic order, also cause great economic loss.To explore the causes of the road early damage, researchers investigated the traffic load survey data in parts of Liaoning Province by the axle spectral methods from AASHTO2002in the US. The results show that most of highway toll stations were serious overloading. The proportion of overloading in most kinds of freight vehicles is more than50%. Moreover, even the vehicles’total weight was not overload; a large proportion of bearing axle load was beyond the standard ones.Serious overloading reduced the service life of asphalt pavement, which required improving the design methods of asphalt. Traditional pavement design based on static loads is difficult to describe the actual pavement mechanical response under dynamic loads. In China, the theory research of road vehicle dynamic loads has great development. However, it always relied on numerical calculation or finite element modeling, which lack of the support of dynamic load test data. In this paper, a new dynamic load measurement test was designed, and by the experimental results, the influence of road conditions, vehicle speed and vehicle load to actual vehicle dynamic loads, which provided data support for further study.Based on vehicle dynamic load measurement, Researchers established a three-dimensional pavement model by3D-Move Analysis software and applied dynamic loads to the simulation model to analyze the mechanical response of pavement under different road conditions and speeds, and explore the actual behavior of asphalt pavement structure under dynamic loading condition.
