In this paper, the pavement structure design is based on the actual project of theJianguo South Road in Anshan. which is provided by institute to optimize for furtherresearch. First of all, optimizing the mix ratio design of the pavement surface layer ofrubber modified asphalt concrete through Marshall test,which is mainly focus on thedense gradation and gap gradation. Then it can obtain the optimal mixture ratio ofdense gradation and gap gradation. Followed with Immersion Marshall test, it canverifies the water stability and stripping capability of anti water damage of densegradation and gap gradation.In the aspects of optimizing structure, changing thematerial of following layer from ordinary asphalt concrete to rubber modified asphaltconcrete.When it meets the mechanics index and minimum structure layer thickness,using the HPDS2003A software of road surface layers of the pavement structuredesign and calculation to optimize and the ANSYS finite element numerical tofit.Finally,taking the road deflection value and bottom layer tensile stress as indexes,and combining the road materials price, the comprehensive optimization is carry onby the efficacy coefficient method.The test and calculation results show that residual Marshall stability the of twogradation types meet the requirements either, and the Marshall residual degrees of gapgradation rubber modified asphalt mixture is higher than which of dense gradationasphalt rubber modified asphalt mixture. So, the gap gradation is the best. Thebottom tensile stress and road deflection value which are calculated by pavementdesign software and finite element numerical simulation software have the similartrend. Finally, the optimization design which obtained by the efficacy coefficientmethod is as follow: rubber modified asphalt concrete(3cm)+rubber modified asphaltconcrete(5cm)+cement stabilized gravel(20cm)+cement stabilized gravel(20cm)+interstitial macadam layer(30cm).
