People have been lived in the riverside of Zhuozhang River for a long time, which have in tern leaved rich legacies. Among the various cultural legacies, early wooden structure is the most significant. Not only does it have long history, it also are rich in number and it is in good condition. Especially the early wooden structure in the riverside, it is densely distributed. In the published8national protected wooden structure, it contains Tang, Song, Yuan, Ming, Qing, Chinese ancient construction has become a complete order, and it is a very important part of Chinese ancient construction. It is very representative. For the sake of narration, the Pingshun Zhuozhang riverside discussed in this article’s only refers to the riverside runs from Lucheng to Pingshun valley, which locates in Mata Village, Shicheng Town. It runs53from east to west, and it is50square kilometers. By the collective effect during more than10,000years, Zhuozhang valley forms a very beautiful scenery, and it also cultivated early human civilization.Song Dynasty, Liao Dynasty and Jin Dynasty are all very important periods in Shanxi history. During these periods, the culture of Middle China of North China integrates with each other. Pingshun locates in Northeast of Shanxi, due to this reason, Liao never invaded here. After Jin defeated Song, they absorbed Song culture and continued it, which in turn had formed a unique building style. As well as that, buildings in these periods were the most glorious. Therefore, this essay will mainly take the wooden structure building in Song and Jin periods which are of great building value as research targets.There are five chapters in this essay.This first chapter, the introduction, will discuss the reason and background of this research, and will explain the aim and importance of it. Besides, the author will conclude the current research dynamics of early buildings in Pingshun Zhuozhang river basin in China. And it will limit the research scale, which will include time scale, space scale, and will nail down the research target.The second chapter will analyze the early buildings in Pingshun Zhuozhang river basin and then will summarize that historical and cultural characteristics of the buildings in the river basin.The third chapter, the status-quo of early buildings in Pingshun Zhuozhang river basin, analyzes and introduces the early buildings in Pingshun Zhuozhang river basin from the perspective of the distribution, the location, the relics themselves and the attached relics respectively.The fourth chapter, the technical analyze of the constructing of early buildings in Pingshun Zhuozhang river basin, is the key part of this essay. The constructing technique discussed here mainly refers to the great wooden structure used in ancient building. The analysis will include the type of structure, the surface column grid, the pillar, the post and the planning. As well as that, the author will summarize the typical way of building in this area in Song and Jin period.The fifth chapter, the conclusion, will summarize the analytical contents. By running research, the author obtains some experiences and feelings of the constructing technique of the early buildings in Pingshun Zhuozhang river basin.
