In recent years, as the foundation of decoration construction enterprise management, cost control of a project has been brought into focus due to the increasing competition of the construction ﹠decoration market. There are only two proper ways if a contractor wants to make profit: 1. the bid price should be reasonable and competive. 2. the management of project must be elaborate. However, cost control which is directly related to contractors’ economic profit, is the most crucial countermeasure of reducing the total project cost, as a result, the cost control of decoration program is the topic of this paper.Construction engineering project management is a kind of value-added service work, in the process of engineering construction safety must be ensured, which is benefit for cost control, progress control, improving the construction quality. And in the use process of the engineering, construction safety is still benefit for environmental protection, energy saving, ensuring the safety of engineering use, can satisfy the customers, is conducive to reduce operating costs and engineering maintenance. The contractor shall establish construction decoration construction cost management system to ensure that the project construction cost is under control all-roundly during the whole process. Construction cost control management is a comprehensive management process. In this paper, method of case analysis was used, and a thorough discuss of cost control was put forward based on literatures and the management mode of Quality-Duration-cost. The coordination of quality, duration and cost should be involved in the phases of preliminary plan, construction till completion. The only way to maximize the profit is to control cost.Based on structured decomposition method and the procedural decomposition method of system decomposition method, the decoration cost control of on-going project of Yinhai commercial building in Yuzhong county was discussed in this paper, according to the present situation contractor’s project cost control and the relevant characteristics and difficulties of the building decoration engineering, the influence factors and connections of cost control was put forward, profound conclusions of cost control was obtained.First of all, the research background, method, invest risk, countermeasures and the development prospects of building decoration industry in China were put forward, a detailed cost control environment risk was comprehensively analyzed, which lay the foundation for the thesis.Furthermore, the cost control during construction and the risk of decoration project was selectively discussed and analyzed, based on the relevant case introduction and analysis, the importance and necessity of building decoration engineering cost control was concluded. The accuracy cost management system and implementation method that structured by this paper were applied in the later period of this project, which controlled the later period cost and reduced the loss.As last, the effectiveness and feasibility of this paper was verified and supported by the discuss of the development prospects and trend of architectural decoration industry in information technology applications, as well as to the low energy consumption, low pollution and high quality.
