The Study On Remodeling The Space Of Shunyi New City From The Perspective Of “Urban And Industry Integration”

Under the evacuation influence of industrial projects in Beijing, Shunyi has rapidly developed into the most famous industrial and manufacturing newtown from suburban county in a short time with GDP ranking highest among all new towns in Beijing. During the long-term economy-oriented development mode, Shunyi has fromed a urban development model that stresses on the industrial projects but ignores the construction of city space. As Beijing gradually reaches the post-industrial mature stage and its urban strcuture adjusts towards multi-center condition, Shunyi, as a significant new city of eastern development belt in Beijing, has to bear increasing high-end industries and more important central functions. However, the existing urban space can hardly support the upgrade of old industries and undertake the settlement of high-end industries. Cuurently, urban development encounters unintegrated problems of both industrial development and space environment, leading to such city phenomenon as “urban and industry separation”.By looking up literature and analyzing data, the thesis studys the long-term development history of Shunyi and analyzes its problems at present stage. Based on these quantitative analyses, this paper qualitatively analyzes the reasons of Shunyi appearing urban industrial and spatial separation. After understanding the generation mechanism of such problem, the thesis obtains ideas to solve city problems of Shunyi with “urban and industry integration” idea and industrial related theories, namely gathering and itegrating the industries and people by remodeling city space.By refering to the development cases of successful domestic and oversea New Cities, the thesis puts forward optimization methods of the new city space from four aspects including city structure, land-use, spatial pattern and infrastructure on theses ideas. A series of proposals have been put forward, such as intensifying urban center, flexibly applying land arrangement, increasing large public service facilities and building modern life concept, thus guiding specific urban space construction of Shunyi.Through the analysis on Shunyi case, the thesis tries to clarify the prolems of space remodeling in the transformation stage of big cities and raise reasonable proposals within the historical profundity and scope of industry, space and cultural breadth. Meanwhile, it has filled the gap of new city space research in China and can provide a reference for new city planning in the future.
