With the rapid development of China’s river and marine transportation, more and more ship-bridge collision accidents have happened in recent year. The damage degree of the bridge after the collision is less studied, even a blank, which is mostly studied on the ship-collision before is the term of the impact force. Therefore, it is urgent to put forward a reasonable damage index at present. It is exactly under this background that the paper puts forward five kinds of damage state after ship-collision, which is combined with the research findings in the seismic areas, car field and wind resistance, based on a large number of simulation data and experimental research. The research work is mainly carried out as follows:① Using the method of numerical simulation calculation, it stimulates five kinds of collision case of scaling experimental pendulum and concrete pier with the same point of impact and different impact velocity. Based on the observation after collision of the steel axis force of concrete pier, displacement of pier crown and fracture situation of concrete pier bottom, the rotation angel of pier bottom is put forward to serve as the damage grade index of concrete pier.② Experiments are carried out to verify the damage index, relying on the simple pendulum device, with different impact velocity got by different height of pendulum in five kinds of cases. Using strain gauge to measure situation of steel bar and concrete and guyed displacement sensor to measure displacement of pier crown, meanwhile, contrastively analyzing the experimental data and stimulation data, the first critical angel and the second critical angel to estimate the damage grade are worked out.③ With the observation of the final failure mode of pier in case five, it can be determined that the final damage state of pier after great impact is brittle failure.In the end, this paper has prospected the ship-bridge collision research field, and summarized the damage index and results that need further research.
