The ancient town refers to historic architectural for people living and activity,which have certain cultural characteristics and geographical features.As an organism,the ancient town is formed with certain environment and culture during a specific time,and it’s a continuation of the historical and cultural imprint. Since has been retained so far,the ancient town has a great appeal to the world,regardless of its legacy of architectural monuments or cultural memories,and it is also an important basis of history and culture for research experts and scholars.So,the protection and renewal of the ancient town has a great important practical significance.In recent years, with the development of society and economy, urbanization has become the main driving force of economic growth.At the third plenary session of the eighteenth central committee our party laid down, persisting in walking along the path to urbanization with chinese characteristics,promoting people-oriented Urbanization.In order to implement the requirements,all localities should play to regional advantages, strive to improve the quality of Urbanization based on local conditions.Based on above reason, the traditional town appropriate tourism development and planning of ascension is a conventional development pattern of current urbanization development,which has done a great deal of efforts to the protection,cultural heritage and development of traditional ancient town architecture,and also is an important means of organic renewal and sustainable development for the ancient town.However, affected by the economic interests, most ancient town development and promotion focus only on temporary economic interests, do not pay attention to the sustainable development,so that so many problems of environmental pollution and cultural pollution has turned up during the development of tourism.Thus,how to coordinate the relationship between local culture and foreign culture,how to use tourism development to promote the protection of ancient town and the heritage building,how to plan and renew the ancient town,has became the problem to solve in tourism development of the ancient town.In November 2011, the city Party committee and government of Chengdu propose to promote jiezi ancient town to be "the domestic first-class,International famous" tianfu small town.According to four state and planning idea that is "ecological, format, culture, form",based on the full protection of the local ecological,deeply dig the regional culture,highlight the characteristics of tourism town, strengthen the tourism function,make sure to integrate functional and industry planning,the appearance of architectural should not allways archaize,need to fully reflect the regional characteristics of ancient building, difference and diversity,enhance the construction of vigor and vitality,at last becom a special tourism town of "Four features fusion".For the above reasons,the author focus on how to handle the relationship between good protection and renewal of the ancient town during design and implementation planning,while participating in jiezi ancient town transform and upgrade project,this is an important topic worth studying,especially for planning and management workers,which need social universal attention.This article put forward the background, purpose and significance of the jiezi ancient town protection and renewal of the study, by studying of the ancient town protection and renewal planning concept,not only that, this article combed and studied the conservation status of the domestic and foreign small towns of history, and the related concept,on the basis of this study,extracted a research framework in this article.On the basis of depth studying the conservation status of the domestic and foreign small towns of history, and the related concept,the author analyzed and summarized theories protection and renewal of historic towns the domestic and foreign, principles, methods and specific cases; By studying case examples, field research method etc., combed and studied on the "Four features" development status of jiezi ancient town,analyzed and summarized in this basis, get the concepts and methods for protecting and updating the jiezi ancient town; From the development objectives and positioning of the jiezi ancient town,combined with case studies, focusing on the special subject of the jiezi ancient town planning "Four features", formulate specific measures targeted to solve the currently complexity of the problem in jiezi ancient town.
