The Research On Urban Design Strategy Of Suzhou From The Perspective Of Ecological Design

Suzhou city has experienced ten years’ rapid development of urbanization. Although it has payed more and more attention on the ecological environment construction, there still remains some problems which has become the key factor constraining its development.However, lacking of systematic and operational practice platform have become the problems in the way of ecological environment construction. City’s physical environment quality is an important symbol of city’s ecological level, basis and premise of city’s natural, social and economic ecology. Urban design is an important method of urban space environmental design. This paper, based on the space environmental design, tries to build a urban design strategic system of Suzhou in terms of ecological design, in order to direct the practice of urban ecological construction of Suzhou, as well as to give references to other cities facing the same problems as Suzhou.In the background of rapid urbanization and serious disruption of urban ecological balance, this paper focuses on the new development of urban design theory and urban design practice in China, in terms of connotation, principal and frame, analyzing the theme- urban design from the perspective of ecology. Moreover, this paper introduces the general information of Suzhou, ecological spirit in the process of city building, and the urgency in city’s ecology. This paper also raises the ecological problems of Suzhou, in terms of ecological planning, environmental management and urban design, analyzing the ecological problems in Suzhou and listing advantages of urban design strategies. At last, based on the researches of former papers, in terms of integral space design, action management and public participation, this paper raises a urban design strategy of Suzhou from the perspective of ecological design.
